May & June 2020 / This work documents protest demonstrations at Los Angeles City Hall and Hollywood following the death of George Floyd. The imagery on television that first unfolded following Floyd’s murder compelled me to show up in solidarity and support of the communities directly affected. I witnessed scenes that countered the narrative of violence being put out by the media. Instead, I felt an underlying thread of hope that brought everyone together. Two images from this series, ‘I BITE RACISTS’ and ‘THE FUTURE’ were included in the ‘Collective Memory Installation’ exhibition, receiving a Grant Award from the LA Department of Arts & Culture in 2023. Additionally, the work has been been featured in multiple exhibitions and published in the 62nd Edition of Communication Arts Photography Annual.
